I'm too sexy!

A few missionary pics that could only be labeled "I'm too sexy for my..."

Hey, I look like Whoopie Goldberg!

We escaped from the same institution as "Hurley" on "Lost"!

Samuel is our "Intelligent computer savvy sexy" He is also great with photography and Swedish polka dancing...

Instead of bathing suits we have the "hand print apron competition" presentation! Don't you wish your girlfriend was shakin and bakin like me!

This deserves a vote for graceful stances while using a public phone... Dr.Carlos models the public phone line: Its casual, but says "I'm here, and must be heard"...

Thinking about creating my own line of Byron lingerie... I was thinking about "Ow, Ow, I got soap in my eyes"

Here is a beautiful display of singing and looking good while performing! Watch out Barry Manilow, I am here to stay!

Mocho sensitive Sexy! these dishes are being modeled by our very own Vilmo and Baltazar... "We can bring home the bacon and even wash up the pan and never let you forget I'm a man!"

Who would you vote for?

Sarah, no time is a good time for good-bye!

Ouch! Our hearts are pricked with the sadness of your absence, but I know that your family and your boyfriend Matt, are going crazy in North Carolina counting the minutes until you arrive safely in their arms.
Samuel was a lost puppy and well Raquel was a puddle of tears... But it has been a wonderful time of learning together. I know you will do great things for God! We all see it all over you!
If awards could be given for crazy poses, I do believe that Sarah would win a first place prize! She encouraged us to make a crazy stunt pose and I thought... "why not indeed!" So there I am being all kinds of silly. Sarah is truly "herself" and that is very refreshing! David and Anne have raised a wonderful true to life character, based solely on what God is molding her into, and that is real nice.
The smile tells it all! The good-byes are always the hardest, there was a messy blend of smil'in and cry'in!
Leaving you with a last glance of the sister-hood together at the airport, bringing it down, yo...

Sarah... We all loved you and will miss you!

God bless you!

July 22, 2008 New Contagem

Today was a beautiful day in New Contagem. We arrived ready to split into groups and visit people in this region.

Together in a group picture before we got started...

Talking to folks on the street and often telling them the Gospel, and inviting them to the evening impact...
Little did this guy know when he went outside to strum his guitar that he would have a huge international audience! He played for us and sang for us. I have to tell you, the guy was pretty good!
We go into homes and show the "Evangecube" which is a tool for telling the Gospel. John here is a real "go getter"! He came for one purpose and he is a "force of nature" for Jesus!

Momma Bonnie is found pretty much where ever there are children...

We visited a factory that is a ministry for mothers that peel Garlic for a living. There is too much to tell to get into this really, but children are forced to peel garlic and the ministry here is to help end a kind of "slavery" here, and the group went to minister to these women.

Ministry prep & Fire Dept. visit and evening impact!

Everyone was tired, but got into gear and by 10:00 AM were sorting luggage and placing donations according to scheduled visits... Finally finished by 12:30 for lunch!

Lunch time also was the moment given to their first reflection and Bible study and devotions.

At 2:30 PM we arrived at the Fire Station and was met by "Tenente Penido" and we had an awesome visit! The group watched a presentation, and after that we asked to share a word with them and Rodney shared the Word and asked them to not risk their lives without first giving themselves to Jesus. It was a moving moment and we could tell that the firemen here were truly touched. Jwan the other fire fighter with the group also shared a few words of the importance of Salvation and that being his strength...

Even Sarah got in on the action and she was harnessed up and came down the fire tower... So many new experiences! Fun!
When the firemen turned on their hoses and we got soaked! It was fun to watch all the demonstrations!

The Firefighters becoming brothers!

At the end of our time together the Fireman that received us was given a gift from the American Firefighters... A Bible for Firemen! I didnt even know such a thing existed! But they were so honored to have us and we have a standing invitation already for next year!

At 6:00 PM we had a service at the Casa de Apoio where the community had been invited. There are several stories of how God really stepped in and did some beautiful things!

kevin spoke and Raquel translated... So much I wish I could say! Thats how full the day was and how much God just showed Himself! Good day!

The dance group that came tonight is a special group of young men. Mycon the leader of the group came to Jesus one night several years back during a crossroads mission team. Today he is leading an incredible dance group. Great group of young men!

Here they are with Tristan, Rodney's son.
