So my children like to play outside with their friends in the parking lot and around the Apartment complex and are having a great time until... Several Police cars come driving up with lights glaring! My daughter wants to approach and watch what is going on to see what has happened. It became apparent that someone had left a box with a live hand grenade sitting in the middle of the sidewalk!
We were told to clear the area but watched as a man in a special suit took the grenade to the corner of the wall and began digging a hole with post hole diggers to detonate the grenade right in this very place!
We watched as the equivalent of the the U.S. police squad "S.W.A.T" moved in and the city police moved out and handled the operation with professionalism and precision. Still, detonating a bomb in the parking lot of the apartment complex! This was so interesting to watch play out right in front of us!
Lea' was even interviewed for the evening news as the whole thing was recorded by the local news station: "Rede Record". Hopefully later we will be able to get this video and link it to this Blog so you can see what we saw.
Upon arrival the children each had a suitcase of clothes as a gift and they were enjoying their gifts...

The hardest part... "Saying Good-bye"... Hopefully we will be back together again in 2 weeks, but we all cried a lot and I realized one more time the cost of being separated from my children.
